Helen Huang is co-founder of Colab and the You Belong in Tech community. As is a common theme of our STEAM Powered guests, lot of us have pretty non-linear journeys. Helen herself had a non-linear journey into tech, which is in part why she and her cofounder shehfoomi were inspired to develop Colab, a program that allows people of all backgrounds aspiring to be in the tech space to develop the skills, confidence, and networks they need to get that foot in the door. Colab achieves this by putting together teams of product managers, designers, and developers to conceptualise and ship a product with support from industry mentors.
